“HÀ NỘI TRONG TÔI” PHOTO EXHIBITION 2026 – THE CAPITAL THROUGH THE LENS

To celebrate the 72nd anniversary of Hà Nội’s Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 – October 10, 2026), the 21st edition of the “Hà Nội trong tôi” photo exhibition opened on the morning of October 7, 2026, at Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám. The exhibition is jointly organised by Hà Nội Radio and Television, the Hà Nội Senior Photographers’ Club, and the Centre for Cultural and Scientific Activities of Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám.

The opening ceremony was attended by Ms Vũ Thu Hà, Member of the Hà Nội Party Committee and Vice Chairwoman of the Hà Nội People’s Committee; Mr Vũ Hà, Member of the Hà Nội Party Committee and Standing Deputy Head of the Hà Nội Party Committee’s Propaganda and Education Commission; Mr Nguyễn Thanh Liêm, Member of the Hà Nội Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of Hà Nội Radio and Television; Mr Nguyễn Trúc Anh, Member of the Hà Nội Party Committee and Secretary of the Party Committee of Hoàn Kiếm Ward; Mr Phạm Xuân Tài, Deputy Director of the Hà Nội Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr Vũ Hồng Huy, Deputy Director General of the Department of Health and Sports under the Central Party Committee’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation; Mr Lê Trọng Nin, Deputy Director General of the Department of Culture and Arts under the same Commission; Mr Kiều Thanh Hùng, Standing Vice Chairman of the Hà Nội Journalists’ Association; Mr Nguyễn Thành Lợi, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of Hà Nội Radio and Television; and Mr Lê Xuân Kiêu, Director of the Centre for Cultural and Scientific Activities of Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám, alongside photographers, artists and journalists.

Under the theme “A Two-Tier Local Government: Streamlined, Effective and Close to the People,” the exhibition presents nearly 80 photographic works documenting the changes taking place across Hà Nội after more than a year of operating under the two-tier local government model. The photographs capture a range of subjects, from local government activities and transport infrastructure to the changing urban landscape and the rhythms of modern life in the capital.

The exhibition is organised into three sections, offering diverse perspectives on a Hà Nội undergoing dynamic transformation and development:

Part 1: “Building a Government Close to the People”

Part 2: “Change at the Grassroots Level”

Part 3: “Hà Nội Reaching New Heights in a New Era”

Over its 21 editions, the “Hà Nội trong tôi” photo exhibition has become a familiar cultural event each October, capturing moments in the capital through the lenses of photographers and press photojournalists. Each edition offers a fresh perspective on Hà Nội, a city deeply rooted in tradition while constantly evolving.
