THE SPOUSE OF THE PRIME MINISTER OF VIETNAM AND THE SPOUSES OF ASEAN PRIME MINISTERS VISIT VĂN MIẾU – QUỐC TỬ GIÁM

On the morning of June 8, 2026, as part of the official visit to Vietnam and participation in the ASEAN Future Forum 2026, Mrs. Đào Thị Bích Thủy, spouse of the Prime Minister of Vietnam, joined the spouses of the Prime Ministers of Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand for a visit to Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám, where they explored Vietnam’s rich cultural heritage and traditional values.

Within this historic and culturally significant heritage site, the distinguished guests learned about Vietnam’s long-standing tradition of learning, respect for teachers, and the honoring of talented individuals throughout the centuries.

At the Thái Học area, the spouses visited the exhibition *“Sĩ Tử”* (Students and Scholars), featuring the remarkable *“Garden of Laureates”* (*Vườn Trạng Nguyên*), which showcases nearly 950 stories of academic perseverance and achievement from students across Vietnam. Beyond celebrating academic success, these stories reflect determination, resilience, and the pursuit of knowledge among Vietnamese youth.

Created using traditional Vietnamese craft materials such as bamboo, dó paper, conical hats, and woven bamboo products, the *“Garden of Laureates”* offered a memorable introduction to Vietnamese culture. The guests also enthusiastically participated in traditional craft activities, including conical hat painting, hand embroidery, and silk weaving, experiencing firsthand the skill, creativity, and refinement of Vietnamese artisans.

The visit not only helped promote Vietnamese culture to international friends but also strengthened cultural exchange, friendship, and cooperation among ASEAN countries through shared values of education, heritage, and cultural traditions.
