Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám

A Space Connecting the Passion for Handwriting and Creative Arts at Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám

As part of Vietnam Penshow 2025, the workshop series held on the morning of December 7, 2025, at Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám attracted a large number of young participants, handwriting enthusiasts, and visitors. The activities not only provided opportunities for networking and connecting with a community sharing a passion for pens and handwriting but also enabled participants to explore creative approaches and improve their handwriting skills in a culturally rich setting with deep historical significance in the heart of Hà Nội.

Participating in the workshop, Mr. Nguyễn Thế Bảo shared:

"I found the workshop to be full of diverse and engaging activities. I had the chance to practice handwriting, and it was both fascinating and enjoyable. Taking the time to write each stroke gave me a sense of peace and relaxation."

Attending the Business Cursive class, Ms. Huế (Hà Nội) expressed her excitement after receiving direct instruction from the instructor:

"I learned the alphabet, basic strokes, and writing techniques in the Business Cursive style. I'm very excited and hope there will be more workshops like this so I can learn different handwriting styles beyond the standard fonts."

In addition to handwriting, the creative drawing workshop also attracted significant interest from participants. Under the guidance of an international expert, Ms. Thúy Anh completed her artwork using a free-expression drawing approach that encouraged participants to express their emotions and imagination without being constrained by conventional notions of beauty or artistic rules.

She shared:

"I think this workshop was incredibly creative. Taking part in it at Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám made the experience even more meaningful and profound. I hope Hà Nội will host more activities like this to enrich the cultural life of people of all ages. A workshop is not just a place to share knowledge—it also helps each person discover more about their own abilities and potential."

Attending Vietnam Penshow for the first time, Ms. Hà Thị Tố Nga also expressed her appreciation for the event:

"I think this is a wonderful and meaningful event that allows visitors to discover the art of fine writing instruments while connecting with the community of pen enthusiasts and lovers of handwriting art in Việt Nam."

The workshop series within Vietnam Penshow 2025 offered a wide range of meaningful experiences, helping to spread appreciation for handwriting, visual arts, and creativity. Hosting these activities at Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám not only created an inspiring space for cultural exchange but also provided the public—especially young people—with valuable opportunities to engage with and experience traditional cultural values through contemporary creative activities.
