A FUN HERITAGE EXPERIENCE AT VĂN MIẾU – QUỐC TỬ GIÁM
On the afternoon of April 14, 2022, a group of 6th grade pupils from Hill Summer Camp participated in the heritage education program: "Finding sacred animals on the ancient buildings" at Văn Miếu-Quốc Tử Giám. This is one of the topics chosen by many pupils.
The pupils learned about the meaning of holy animals decorated on ancient architectural works at Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám such as: nghê, dragon, phoenix, and carp… This program is especially attractive to children in that it is built on software installed on Ipads. After learning and researching with ipads, the children were also very excited about the experience of traditional printing of sacred animals on Dó paper.
The heritage education programs at Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám help students learn about the historical and cultural values of the landmark in particular and the national culture in general.
