THE EXHIBITION " PROLEGOMENON TO THE TRADITION OF EDUCATION IN VIETNAM "
ATTRACTS A LARGE NUMBER OF VISITORS
In early February 2024, the Center for Scientific and Cultural Activities Văn Miếu-Quốc Tử Giám inaugurated the exhibition " Prolegomenon To The Tradition Of Education In Vietnam " at the rear house in the Thái Học couryard to provide more information about the distinguished figures of Vietnam currently being worshiped at Văn Miếu-Quốc Tử Giám. Now, visitors to the historical site of Văn Miếu-Quốc Tử Giám can learn about the eminent figures who have made significant contributions to the establishment of Văn Miếu-Quốc Tử Giám as well as to the education system, scholarly pursuits, and talent nurturing of Vietnam through this exhibition.
Just two months after the opening ceremony, the exhibition has attracted the attention of hundreds of thousands of visitors, including many young people who come to explore and learn. Đỗ Ngọc Khánh, a student from Ai Mo Secondary School, shared: "The exhibition space is beautiful, ancient, and solemn, filled with a historical atmosphere. It exudes the profound beauty of Vietnamese history. Especially, the exhibited materials made of wood evoke images of simplicity, familiarity, and closeness to ancient Vietnamese people." Visitors not only seek information but also find beautiful photography spots within the exhibition space. Lê Minh Thu from Ho Chi Minh City said: "This is my first time visiting the historical site of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam. Everything from the space to the arrangement here gives me a sense of closeness, solemnity, and the ancient beauty of the historical site. I really like it and have taken some memorable photos."
The exhibition space introduces history but is designed in a contemporary style, using traditional materials that evoke various emotions for foreign visitors. Mirko Woltling from Germany expressed his emotions, saying: "The exhibition space has given me a wonderful insight into Vietnamese history. It's fantastic to admire the exhibited artifacts and the interpretation presented along the timeline. I will introduce this exhibition to everyone." Simon from the UK also commented: "The exhibition is clear, with comprehensive information that portrays a long history of education in Vietnam. I find the exhibition very impressive. Thank you!"
After visiting the exhibition, Brita Uhl from Germany shared: "I really love this exhibition. It has provided me with wonderful images and captivating displays. I have learned a lot of information, and I will introduce this exhibition to my friends and family."
