REIMAGING THĂNG LONG – HÀ NỘI IN THE PAST THROUGH THE EXHIBITION “SOI BÓNG THĂNG LONG”
10 art works of 9 artists displayed in the exhibiton to tell the mophology of water relating to Thăng Long – Hà Nội with a thousand year culture.
“Water” was a element mentioned in the exhibition, was a Red river, Tô river, West Lake of the imperial in the past. Red river was an important element contributing the establishment and development of Thăng Long – Hà Nội through long historical period. The river gave full of anecdote in the real life as well as the tale relating to existence and development of citizens.
The artists told simple stories about flood - control; about the first men expanding a nation with the battle making a history of establishment of nation as well as the festival activities in the river imbued with national identity through the works in the exhibition. The works described the well-known place as well as the historical sites related to establishment and development of Thăng long-Hà Nội showed the development of special art and culture of the land in the past.
The exhibition seperated into 8 tiny projects connecting with each others smoothly and concordantly. The works made out of various materials as: bronze, ceramic, silk, Dó paper, Điệp paper, mixed iron, plastic recycling bins, wooden block, latex block,…
New multiform language to tell the stories installed interactions of audiences. Moreover, projection mapping and lazer light and led applied on silk works or bamboo works. The characteristics would attract the audiences while visiting the exhibition at Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám.
The exhibition “Soi bóng Thăng Long” would be significant cultural event contributing to conserve and promote the value of cultural heritage
