THE OPENING CEREMONY OF VIETNAM PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION  2020

 

On October 14, 2020, the opening ceremony of the Vietnam Photography Exhibition 2020 took place at the Thái Học courtyard,  Văn Miếu-Quốc Tử Giám. The exhibition introduced the public to excellent photographic works by photography lovers during 2019-2020.

The Vietnam Photography Contest and Exhibition 2020 was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition, Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and The Center for Scitific and Cultural Activities - Văn Miếu-Quốc Tử Giám.

After more than 4 months, the organizers have received 12,480 works (with 02 categories: realistic photos and conceptual photos) of 1,516 authors from 63 provinces and cities , in which 238 works (197 realistic photos and 41 conceptual photos) of 182 authors were selected for display at the Exhibition and 33 best works were selected to be awarded (26 awards for realistic photos and 7 awards for conceptual photos), including: 3 gold medals, 6 silver medals, 9 bronze medals and 15 consolation prizes.

 

Works of the realistic category selected for display and awards are of ideological and artistic values reflect the beauty of people, culture and country. Consequently, viewers can imagine a country that is both traditional and modern, constantly developing.

Especially, this is the first time that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has put  photos of conceptual category in The Vietnam Photography Contest and Exhibition 2020. Selected works of this tyle have shown us photographers' creativity, new experiences and unique ideas; and pointed out contemporary life problems; shown their thoughts, opinions, ideas about life ..

The Vietnam Photography Contest and Exhibition 2020 is a good opportunity for visitors, especially those who love the art of photography, to visit excellent works, so that they may have an overview of life, people and country. The event will take place from October 14 to October 23, 2020.
