ACTIVITIES

On October 9, 2018, The Center for Scientific and Cultural Activities Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam, in cooperation with Bat Trang porcelain Association, opened the exhibition Glamour of Bat Trang Porcelain in Hanoi.

Ms. Dang Thi Bich Lien – Deputy Minister of Ministry of Cultural, Sport and Tourism; Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Hai Trung – Vice Director of Hue monuments Conservation Center; Mr. Truong Minh Tien –former Vice Director of Department of Hanoi Culture and Sport; Mr. Le Xuan Kieu – Director of the Scientific and Cultural Activities Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam; Mr. Luu Duy Dan – Chairman of Vietnam Association of Craft Villages; Mr. Luu Minh Tri – Chairman of Cultural Heritage Association of Vietnam; Mr. Pham Huy Khoi – Party Committee Secretary of Bat Trang; Mr. Ha Van Lam – Representative of villager in Bat Trang and craftsmen and villager of Bat Trang all attended the opening of the exhibition.

On display are 150 works by 10 famous craftsmen.  The works illustrate an array of porcelain types and methods used in Bat Trang. The talented craftsmen are said to have hands of gold, who have created works of art which have received prizes in other exhibitions.

          This is a meaningful cultural activity which attracts many domestic and foreign tourists. The public not only has the opportunity to enjoy magnificent works made by talented craftsmen, but also gain a greater understanding of the value of fine art and art porcelain.

          The exhibition is open from October 9th to 22th, 2018 at Thai Hoc Courtyard of the Special National Landmark Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam.
