VĂN MIẾU - QUỐC TỬ GIÁM NOW HAS AN E-LIBRARY
On the occasion of the third Vietnamese Book and Reading Culture Day, on the evening of April 17th, the Center for Scientific and Cultural Activity Văn Miếu Quốc Tử Giám introduced to readers the " Văn Miếu Quốc Tử Giám E-Library". The library was compiled by , the Center for Scientific and Cultural Activity Văn Miếu Quốc Tử Giám in collaboration with several experts and scientists.
The library consists of 10 multimedia 3D books, 20 picture books, and some other books. The 10 multimedia books provide brief introductions to the backgrounds and careers of some cultural celebrities and talents of our nation such as Nguyễn Hiền, Chu Văn An, Nguyễn Trãi, Lương Thế Vinh, Lê Quý Đôn, Ngô Thì Nhậm, Thân Nhân Trung, among others. Many of them have made significant contributions to Quốc Tử Giám and have left profound marks on Vietnamese Confucianism.
The 3D multimedia books are designed in a flip-book format, user-friendly, and easy to use. In addition to written content, they also integrate multimedia elements such as videos, slide image galleries, charts, etc. Especially, the books include interactive elements such as 3D object models, 3D architectural spaces, 3D geographical areas, and interactive maps, providing readers with new and interesting reading experiences, truly harnessing the strengths of e-books.
The 20 picture books combine text and illustrative drawings to introduce readers to concise stories about the historical significance of Văn Miếu Quốc Tử Giám and education in Vietnam during the feudal period. These stories include topics such as academic activities at Quốc Tử Giám, legendary tales like "The Fish Jumping Over the Dragon Gate", and various rituals and ceremonies. Additionally, there are books reflecting the historical, cultural, architectural, artistic, and scenic values of the renowned Vietnamese educational institution, known as the first university in our country.
The picture books are presented in a flip-book format, lively and easy to use. With concise storytelling and vivid illustrations, this series will help readers, especially young readers, easily remember and understand the historical and cultural significance of our country's heritage sites and prominent historical figures. This contributes to nurturing love for our homeland and fostering traditional values such as respect for teachers, reverence for knowledge, and the appreciation of national talent.
The books can be accessed on all devices: PC computers, Android and iOS mobile devices, and other operating systems through web browsers without the need for any additional software installation. This is extremely convenient for elderly people, children, or those who lack the skills to install computer or phone software, as they can simply open and enjoy the books.
