CLOSING OF VIETNAM DESIGN WEEK 2023, ANNOUNCEMENT OF RESULTS FOR THE "DESIGN FROM CONSTRAINTS" COMPETITION AT VĂN MIẾU – QUỐC TỬ GIÁM
On the evening of September 29th, at Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám, Vietnam Design Week 2023, themed "Design from Constraints," came to a close with the announcement of results and the award ceremony for the Designed by VietNam competition.
Launched at the end of April 2023, the fourth edition of the Designed by VietNam competition, with the theme "Design from Constraints" (Embracing Constraints), received 150 entries. Thirty-one designs were selected for the final stage of refinement, exhibition, and the competition's conclusion, including ten designs for public restrooms near Hoan Kiem Lake.
As a result, the organizing committee awarded Encouragement Prizes to three authors: Ngô Đăng Minh, Đỗ Hà Trang, and the author group of the work "Đi Hà Nội Toilet đi," including Nguyễn Huy Hoàng, Trần Trọng Hưng, Phan Anh Khôi, and Trần Thị Hồng Loan. The third prize was awarded to the author Đào Mạnh Khang. The second prize was given to the decorative lamp design "Soli" by author Nguyễn Hùng Cường and Nguyễn Hồng Phúc. The first prize went to the author Nguyễn Khai Tông.
The design for public restrooms was awarded to the authors Nguyễn Quỳnh Nhi, Lê Tấn Đạt; Nguyễn Bích Phương (for the public restroom at Hoan Kiem Lake); Nguyễn Huy Hoàng, Trần Trọng Hưng, Phan Anh Khôi, Trần Thị Hồng Loan (for the work "Đi Hà Nội Toilet đi").
Vietnam Design Week - Vietnam Design Week is the largest annual event in the country's design field, organized by the VietNam Design Group, Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts Studies (VICAS), the Copyright Office (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), the Department of Culture and Sports in Hanoi, with the aim of discovering and honoring outstanding Vietnamese products and designers."
