AWAKENING THE CREATIVE SPIRIT AT VĂN MIẾU WITH THE LAUNCH OF VIỆT NAM DESIGN WEEK (VNDW)
On the morning of May 13th, at the Bát Giác House at Giám Garden, located in the special national landmark Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám, the launching ceremony for the Design of the Year Award and Design Fair VietNam were held as a part of the fourth annual VietNam Design Week (2023).
With the desire to turn Giám Gardens into a creative space filled with renewed life, Mr. Lê Xuân Kiêu - Director of the Center for Science and Culture Activities Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám stated: "With the hope for a new beginning for VietNam Design Week 2023, we hope that Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám will become the venue for meaningful activities. We hope that everyone will show care, feeling, and creativity to make Hanoi, Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám a more beautiful place, and bring vitality to this sacred land."
VietNam Design Week (VNDW) is the first and largest annual event in the country to search for and recognize outstanding Vietnamese products and designers. It includes a series of activities such as design contests, awards, exhibitions, seminars, workshops, etc., contributing to the development of the design industry in particular, and the cultural and creative industries of Vietnam in general.
According to Mr. Lê Việt Hà - Chairman of Vietnam Design Group, the Design of the Year Award honors the best product designs in Vietnam, with the aim of promoting the design industry to create a bright and more sustainable future. At the same time, Design Fair VietNam will showcase unique and newly designed consumer products, with the purpose of fostering cooperation between designers, manufacturers, and retailers of these outstanding Vietnamese products."
