OPENING CEREMONY OF THE EXHIBITION "PAINTING THE CAT" AT VĂN MIẾU – QUỐC TỬ GIÁM

On the afternoon of January 17, the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám in collaboration with the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts Studies and the TiredCity Creative Company held the Opening Ceremony the Exhibition “Painting The Cat". The exhibition aims to convey a positive message about the Year of the Cat for the Lunar New Year 2023 through the story and unique nuances of the character, "The Cat". This exhibition will bring interesting and fun things to the community of people who love creativity during the New Year.

The exhibition “Painting The Cat” is a continuation of the Illustration Challenge and Fundraising Campaign which is held annually by TiredCity and Vietnam Local Artist Group (VLAG) to support the Rescue and Help Organization for street children, children with disabilities, and children with special circumstances across Vietnam (The Blue Dragon Children's Foundation). For three weeks, the Challenge has received more than 900 applications with hundreds of illustrations of different colors, styles and expressions. This resulted, not only in a large amount of money being contribured to Blue Dragon through the main fundraising publication ''The Cat Calendar 2023'', but also marked the community's interest in children living in difficult circumstances.

The exhibition displays nearly 80 works selected after the illustration challenge. No distiction was made of ability, age or style, in order to present the potential of the young Vietnamese artist community to the public.

The exhibition "Painting The Cat" will take place from January 17, 2023 to February 28, 2023 at two locations: the Special National Landmark of Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám and the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts Studies.
