THE 21TH PHẠM THẬN DUẬT AWARD PRESENTATION CEREMONY HELD AT THE VĂN MIẾU-QUỐC TỬ GIÁM
On 11/29/2020, at Văn Miếu-Quốc Tử Giám Hội, Vietnam Association of Science and History in collaboration with Phạm Thận Duật Historical Scholarship Fund held the ceremony to commemorate Personality Phạm Thận Duật, and Scientific Seminar on the occasion of the 135th Death anniversary of Phạm Thận Duật, and the 21st Phạm Thận Duật Award Presentation Ceremony for the most excellent PhD theses in the past year.
This year, 6 excellent PhD theses were honored. The First Prize was awarded to Dr. Bùi Thị Hà, Institute of History, Vietnam Academy of Sciences, and Second Prize was awarded to Dr. Huỳnh Thanh Loan, Institute of Indian and Southwest Asia Studies, 4 Third prizes were awarded to Dr. Nguyễn Thị Nga, History Department, Hanoi National University of Education 2, PhD. Nguyễn Thị Hồng Miên, Điện Biên College of Education, PhD. Trình Thị Hà, Institute of History, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences.
A Scientific Seminar on Phạm Thận Duật also took place at this ceremony, researchers presented 07 scientific reports on talent and important contributions of Phạm Thận Duật, especially among the 7 reports were the two from 2 foreign researchers: Mr. Bradley Camp Davis-Associate Professor at Connecticut State University, USA and Ms. Kathlene Bald-Associate Professor, Pennsyvania State University, USA. . All reports affirmed Phạm Thận Duật's talent and contributions to Vietnamese politics, military, culture, education. Assoc.Prof. Dr. Phillippe Le Failler expressed that "Pham Than Duat's notes are useful to everyone, not only for historians but also for ethnologists, linguists and researchers today "
Architect Phạm Vũ Hưng, Chairman of the Fund, shared: "Whether it is for Phạm Thận Duật or for the others predecessors, we have not only established a connection with the past, but also created an opportunity for ourselves to be reminded of what we need to do, following the good deeds of our predecessors" Up to now, 113 doctors have been awarded this prestigious award.
