DEPUTY MINISTER OF CHINA MINISTRY OF CULTURE AND TOURISM VISITED VAN MIEU – QUOC TU GIAM
On July, 1st, Deputy Minister of China Ministry of Culture and Tourism – Mr. Li Jũn and his delegates and minister resident in Hanoi visited Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam.
This visting helped Mr. Li Jũn have a deep understanding of history of Vietnamese education. From the first examination held in 1075 to the first national university found in 1076 which opened for significantly developed education in Vietnam in the future.

Mr. Li Jũn had a great attention to 82 stone stelae, especially to the inscription for the examination held in 1442 says: “Virtuous and talented men are the primordial vitality of a State. If this vitality is strong, the State will be powerful and prosperous. If it is not, the State will weaken and have a low standing. Therefor, clear – sighted monarchs always attach importance to educating talented men and selecting Confucian scholars for the mandarinate, and regard the fostering of the State’s primordial vitality as an urgent task”.

Mr. Li Jũn knew that through the content of the inscriptions, researchers of culture could know history of examinations, the examination rules, the number of candidates, the names of examineers. The names of successful philosophers engraved on stone which proved that Vietnamese Kings always paid attention to education and respecting talents for a nation. Deputy Minister of China Ministry of Culture and Tourism did not only impress with history of Vietnamese education but also green enviroment. He thought that Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam deserved top destination of Hanoi.
