PRIME MINISTER OF ITALY VISTED VAN MIEU
On June 6, Prime Minster of italy – Mr. Giuseppe Conte visited the Special National Landmark Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam – the symbol of long-lasting education in Vietnam.
On his visit, Mr. Giuseppe Conte listened o the history of Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam and the tradition of respecting teachers, and the talents of a nation. Mr. Conte shared that: “Vietnamese had been preserving tradition of respecting teachers long time ago is a very precious. I had been a professor so I am very touched to know about this tradition of Vietnam”.

He also showed his appreciation for his visit of the special landmark: “Visiting Van Mieu – Quoc Tu giam is so significant for me not to skip. This place contributed to preserve and develop precious traditions of Vietnam. Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam was also the biggest center of education under absolute monarchy in which to preserve precious traditions to hold education in high esteem for the young Vietnamese generation”.

On the occasion of the Prime Minister’s visit, PhD. Le Xuan Kieu – Director of Center for Scientific and Cultural Activities Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam gave the pen with symbol of Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam as a souvenir for Mr. Conte.

Prime Minister of Italy thanked the director and staffs of the Center for a warm and thoughtful welcome, helping him and delegates to understand thoroughly about significant tradition of respecting teachers in Vietnam.
