JAPAN'S CROWN PRINCE AKISHINO AND CROWN PRINCESS KIKO PAID A VISIT TO VĂN MIẾU - QUỐC TỬ GIÁM
As part of their official visit to Vietnam commemorating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Vietnam, on the afternoon of September 21st, Japan's Crown Prince Akishino And Crown Princess Kiko visited the Special National Landmark, Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám.
Prince Akishino and the princess were welcomed by Mr. Nguyễn Mạnh Quyền, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, along with the leaders of various city departments and the officials of the Center for Scientific and Cultural Activities Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám.
Exploring the architectural structures that make up the ancient beauty of the landmark, such as the Văn Miếu Gate, Đại Trung Gate, Khuê Văn Pavilion, Đại Thành santuary, Doctoral Stele area, Prince Akishino and the princess were deeply impressed by the ancient ambiance and the unique decorative motifs on these architectural structures. The world cultural heritage of 82 doctoral steles also left a strong impression on Prince Akishino and the princess.
Listening to the introduction of Quốc Tử Giám - the first national school in Vietnam, Prince Akishino and the Princess of Japan showed a special interest in the learning and teaching activities there, which plays a role as the 'cradle of nurturing talents' for the Vietnamese nation.
At the end of their visit, Prince Akishino and the Princess of Japan expressed their admiration for the literary and educational traditions of Vietnam in general and Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám in particular, where the reverence for scholarship is upheld and the precious traditional values of the Vietnamese people are preserved and promoted.
