In the afternoon of September 25, 2018 Minister of BuddhaSasana of Sri Lanka Gamini Jayawickrema Perena visited Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam.
During his visit to Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam, Mr. Gamini Jayawickrema Perena observed the sophisticated architectures of the landmark including Khue Van Cac- the symbol of HaNoi Capital, Dai Thanh sanctuary, and Thai Hoc courtyard.
Mr. Gamini Jayawickrema Perena listened to a presentation of the history of the site and 82 doctor’s stelae, a world documentary heritage and Quoc Tu Giam – the first national university of Viet Nam under the period of feudal society. He praised the kings who ordered the creation of 82 doctor’s stelae and Quoc Tu Giam. He said they were brilliant kings in Vietnamese history because they recognized the importance of education and respect for virtuous and talented men to build and develop the country.
At the end of his visit, Mr. Gamini Jayawickrema Perena showed appreciation for the beautiful value and traditions of the Vietnamese nation.
