On April 28, 2024, at the historical site Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám, the Vietnam Historical Science Association, the Vietnam Rural Development Science Association, the Institute of Cultural and Development Studies, and Center for Scientific and Cultural Activities Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám organized a conference "Professor Đào Duy Anh: From Revolutionary Activist to Distinguished Scholar" to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the birth of Professor Đào Duy Anh (1904-2024).
With the participation of over 100 delegates, including experts, scientists from research institutes, universities, and representatives from various specialized social organizations, the Đào family aimed to systematize and supplement valuable documents affirming the significant contributions of Professor Đào Duy Anh to the revolutionary cause of the nation and the academic field of the country. This is also a practical activity to celebrate the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, the reunification of the country, and the 70th anniversary of the Điện Biên Phủ Victory.
Professor Đào Duy Anh (1904-1988) was a renowned historian, geographer, lexicographer, linguist, and researcher in culture, religion, and folklore, considered the pioneer in many social and humanitarian sciences in Vietnam.
Throughout his life, from his active revolutionary activities in his youth to his dedicated scientific research, he was awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize by the Party and the State in 2000. His name has been given to many schools and streets in Hanoi, Thanh Hóa, Huế, and Hồ Chí Minh City. This is a tribute to a revolutionary activist, a professor, an intellectual, and a great cultural figure in the era of Hồ Chí Minh.
Also on this occasion, Dân Trí Publishing House has collaborated with some publishing agencies to release the book " Đào Duy Anh: From Revolutionary Activist to Distinguished Scholar." We invite you to read it.
