THE VĂN MIẾU-QUỐC TỬ GIÁM AS SEEN IN SKETCHES

During the contest "Sketch of the Văn Miếu-Quốc Tử Giám" which is organized for those students majoring in Architecture, Fine Arts in Hanoi(most of the students are from such universities as National University of Civil Engineering, Hanoi Architectural University, Hanoi Open University, Vietnam University of Fine Arts), Painting Club of National University of Civil Engineering organized a sketch workshop on the Văn Miếu-Quốc Tử Giám. This event aims to assist members who participate in the Contest.

The club had advisers who are experts or advisers in fine arts at some training establishments, as well as professors from universities to observe, give advice or and comments on the works so that the contestants would be able to create perfect works.

Each of the students chose for themselves a beautiful scene of the Văn Miếu-Quốc Tử Giám to sketch. The ancient curved tile roofs, arches, wooden pillars ... gradually appeared by the creativity of the skillful hands of the Club members.

After the Workshop, many works were completed while some others were still incomplete. However, all of the works were commented and evaluated in detail by the advisers. According to the Advisory Board, besides the layout, drawing, color, members should have paid attention to the messages and emotions that they wanted to convey in their paintings.

Mr. Trần Quốc Việt- Deputy Dean of Architecture and Planning Faculty of National University of Civil Engineering said: “I highly appreciate this contest as it encourages the students to make a specific contribution to the heritage of the  Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám. Many students have come here today. They want to share their messages of heritage. I think this is the success of the Contest ”.
