JOINING THE OLD CLASS AND RECEIVING CALLIGRAPHY FROM THE MASTER
Last weekend, the little students of Ngôi Sao Kindergarten participated in a heritage education program at Văn Miếu (Temple of Literature) with the theme "The Old Class."
The children immersed themselves in the atmosphere of an old classroom, exploring traditional learning tools such as calligraphy brushes, inkstones, and Dó paper. They were incredibly excited about hands-on activities like grinding ink and using calligraphy brushes to write on Dó paper. At the end of the program, each child received a calligraphy piece from the master featuring meaningful words like Minh (Bright), Hiếu học (Studious), Chí (Will), and Phúc (Blessing).
Ms. Bùi Hoa, the school principal, shared: "The little students of Ngôi Sao Kindergarten visited and experienced the 'The Old Class' at Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám. The staff warmly guided them, listened to introductions about the historical site, and participated in the old-time classroom experience. They ground ink and practiced basic strokes of Chinese characters with calligraphy brushes. It was the first time the children had such a meaningful and fascinating experience."
Teacher Phạm Thị Phương added:"On the way back, some children excitedly ran to me, saying: 'Teacher, I received the word Chí from the master!' or 'I got the word, Minh!' These were wonderful experiences for them during their early years. The heritage education program 'The Old Class' truly left an impression of excitement and joy in each child from Ngôi Sao Kindergarten."
