VINSCHOOL METROPOLIS STUDENTS EXPERIENCE THE "CLASSROOM IN THE PAST" AT VĂN MIẾU - QUỐC TỬ GIÁM

At Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám, the 4th-grade students of Vinschool Metropolis Primary School had the opportunity to explore history and culture through the heritage education activity "Classroom in the past". This was an exciting journey, taking the students back to the atmosphere of a classroom during the feudal time, helping them deeply understand the fond learning spirit of their ancestors.

During the activity, the students learned about traditional classrooms, which were often set up in the teacher's yard with a simple, rustic space. Unlike modern classrooms with neatly arranged desks and chairs, classrooms in the past only had wooden benches or bamboo platforms where the teacher would sit and lecture. The educational tools were also unique: calligraphy brushes, ink stones, ink, and dó paper.

Through the exhibition "Quốc Tử Giám – The First National School", the students could see ancient artifacts and compare classrooms from the past to the present. This activity not only broadened their knowledge but also conveyed valuable lessons about perseverance, endurance, and the relentless spirit of learning from the Confucian scholars of the past.

In a bamboo classroom closely resembling a Vietnamese rural village, the students played the role of ancient students. They eagerly practiced grinding ink, holding calligraphy brushes, and writing basic strokes on dó paper. The curiosity and joy of using ancient student tools created memorable moments for the students during this experience.

Before leaving, Nguyễn Minh Bảo Ngọc, a student from class 4B4, shared: "I felt very happy when participating in today's experience. I got to hear about the historical site, attend an ancient classroom, grind ink, and write basic strokes of Chinese characters like the horizontal, vertical, and diagonal strokes. My creation today is the character 'Tài,' which is very meaningful. This was my first time writing on dó paper, and I was very excited."

Let's take a look at some interesting images of the students during this experience!
