WEEKEND HERITAGE EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AT VĂN MIẾU – QUỐC TỬ GIÁM
Last weekend, the students of class 8G from Trần Mai Ninh Secondary School in Thanh Hóa City had a meaningful morning visit to Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám.
The students participated in a traditional incense offering ceremony and listened to an introduction about the history of Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám. Notably, they learned about Quốc Tử Giám – the first national university through a heritage education program.
The theme “Golden Bell Ringing to Learn about Quốc Tử Giám – the First University” was designed with various activities to help the students understand more about the teaching and learning at Quốc Tử Giám in the past. Additionally, like the scholars of old times, the students experienced making their own cute notebooks using Dó paper.
The teacher Ms. Nguyễn Thị Nhung said: “Văn Miếu Quốc Tử Giám is a special national monument of Vietnam and a source of pride for the Vietnamese people. With its long-standing cultural history, the site was chosen as the first destination for the extracurricular activity on June 1, 2024, for the students of class 8G from Trần Mai Ninh Secondary School. The students were very excited to visit and learn about the history of the site, which helped enhance their awareness of protecting and preserving cultural heritage. Their favorite part was participating in the Golden Bell Ringing activity. Once again, we thank the staff at the site for organizing such a wonderful experience for the students.”
