SUMMER VACATION FOLLOWING THE STUDENTS' HERITAGE EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AT VĂN MIẾU-QUỐC TỬ GIÁM
At the end of the school year, the 8B students of Văn Phú Secondary School, Yên Bái city, had a field trip and experienced a heritage education program at Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám.
With the desire to learn about the tradition of valuing education and recognizing talents, the students chose the heritage education theme: "Golden Bell Ringing to Explore the Doctoral Steles." The program was designed with a combination of indoor and outdoor activities, which created great interest among the students.
The activity involved surveying and learning about the history of the Doctoral Steles right in the Doctoral Steles Garden. Competing together in the "Golden Bell Ringing" gameshow helped the students understand more about the significance of erecting the Doctoral Steles, the names of the doctors engraved on the stone tablets, the methods of selecting talents, and the examples of scholarly dedication from their ancestors.
Especially, the final activity of the class was printing woodblock patterns of ancient designs engraved on the Doctoral Steles, and this creative and meaningful product was something the students kept as a memento from their experience.
