LEARNING ABOUT THE TEXTBOOKS OF STUDENTS IN THE PAST AT VĂN MIẾU-QUỐC TỬ GIÁM
Crossing more than 100 km to Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám in Hanoi to join a heritage education program for experimentation with a theme of the textbooks of students in the past in the pouring rain, the students of grade 7 from Inter-level high school Dewey in Hải Phòng had unforgettable experience.
Joining in the heritage education program, the students could learn a plenty of interesting information: what kind of textbooks students studied in the past? Which characters printed on the textbooks? What papers are made out of? Who was ancestor of printing in Vietnam?....through textbooks, wooden block printing displayed at the relic.
Making a printing on Dó paper was the most interesting activity, the students learnt how to spin the thread making out of Dó paper, to decorate the cover of textbooks.
After visiting, the students from Inter-level high school Dewey in Hải Phòng being fond of heritage education program with the different themes for experimentation at the relic.

The student Bảo nhi shared that: “I am crazy about this program for experimentation! I could learn more informantion I’ve ever seen. I love this way to learn about heritage because I could join a lot of activities. The first time I touched the ancient textbooks which appeared in the internet only. The paper was thinner than my imagine.

She was so impressive at with the program then affirmed that this visiting was so wonderful to provide the pride of culture and history and language of a nation. The teacher spoke: “ Coming to the holy place was not only an experience but it was also an opportunity to join holy atmostphere to learn about traditional education in Vietnam. Especially, the activity to learn about the ancient textbooks at the relic brought the understanding to the students about the change of language and hand writing and knowledge through the periods. The anciet textbooks were the precious items attesting the progression and preservation of knowledge. At the same time, the students made textbooks by themselves
