AWARD CEREMONY AND OPENING OF THE EXHIBITION OF ARTWORKS FROM THE 2025 “ECHOES OF HISTORY” ART CONTEST AT VĂN MIẾU – QUỐC TỬ GIÁM
On the occasion of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day, the Award Ceremony and the opening of an exhibition showcasing artworks from the 2025 “Echoes of History” art contest took place on the afternoon of November 23 at Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám. The event was co-organized by the Centre for Cultural and Scientific Activities of Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám, the Hanoi Watercolour Artists Club, and Mây Thênh Thang Artspace.
The ceremony was honoured by the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đỗ Văn Trụ, Chairman of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association; Dr. Lê Xuân Kiêu, Director of the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám and Head of the Organizing Committee; Dr. Nguyễn Văn Tú, Deputy Director of the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám and Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee; members of the Jury; representatives of co-organizing and sponsoring units; artists, architects, leaders of museums and heritage sites in Hanoi; leaders of units and departments under the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports; lecturers and students from universities; and members of the press and media.
After six months of launching, the contest received 269 artworks from 246 artists across the country, spanning provinces and cities. The Organising Committee selected 80 outstanding works for the final round and exhibition at the Award Ceremony. Among them, 18 exceptional pieces were honoured with prizes, including three second prizes, three third prizes, ten consolation prizes, and two sponsor prizes.
The 80 artworks offer youthful and creative perspectives, telling fresh stories about the architecture, heritage, and history of Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám through diverse media, including oil painting, silk, watercolour, and lacquer. The works reflect thoughtful artistic investment, both in concept and technique, particularly in the way young artists approach history with clarity, sincerity, and depth.
The 2025 “Echoes of History” art contest serves as an opportunity to honour the finest artworks and officially open the exhibition, inviting the public to admire the colours of history through the brushstrokes of the younger generation. The contest contributes to reviving the values of Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám, fostering love for history and a sense of respect for heritage among the community.
The Exhibition of Artworks from the 2025 “Echoes of History” Art Contest is open from 23 November to 7 December 2025, from 8:00 to 17:00 daily.

The Jury of the “Echoes of History” Competition 2025

Dr Lê Xuân Kiêu, Director of the Centre for Cultural and Scientific Activities of Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám and Head of the Organising Committee, presented Letters of Appreciation and flowers to the co-organizing units.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đỗ Văn Trụ, Chairman of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association, presented the Second Prizes to the three winners: Trần Phương Minh, Hoàng Thị Như Quỳnh, and Vũ Dương Hải.

Dr Lê Xuân Kiêu, Director of the Centre for Cultural and Scientific Activities of Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám and Head of the Organising Committee, together with artist Nguyễn Thế Sơn, Head of the Jury, presented the Third Prizes to three artists: Nguyễn Anh Tài, Phạm Quốc Trung, and Đặng Thị Phương Nga.
