OPENING OF THE PAINTING EXHIBITION “THE MOTHERLAND – THOUSAND MILES OF BEAUTY” AT VĂN MIẾU – QUỐC TỬ GIÁM

    On the afternoon of August 16, at the Thái Học House – Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám, the Centre for Cultural and Scientific Activities of Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám, in collaboration with the Tôi Vẽ (I Paint) Club, held the opening ceremony of the painting exhibition entitled “Nước Non Ngàn Dặm” (The Motherland – Thousand Miles of Beauty), celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

    The exhibition presents more than 150 artworks created by 34 artists, including young painters, honouring the majestic and poetic beauty of Vietnam through the creative perspectives of contemporary artists.

    Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mrs Nguyễn Liên Hương, Deputy Director of the Centre for Cultural and Scientific Activities of Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám, shared:

    “The exhibition *‘Nước Non Ngàn Dặm’ is not only an artistic event but also a bridge connecting hearts, nurturing the love for our homeland and country, especially among the younger generation. Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám and the *Tôi Vẽ* Club are honoured to co-organise this event as a tribute to our nation on the occasion of the 80th National Day.”

    Artist Đinh Quang Huy, founder of the *Tôi Vẽ* Club, further noted:

    “Over 150 works in diverse materials—lacquer, silk, watercolor, woodcut, gouache, colored pencil, and oil pastel—created by 34 artists ranging from sixth-grade students to those in their sixties, form 150 harmonious melodies expressing different perspectives on the country, people, culture, and nature—from bustling cities to remote highlands, from peaceful villages to distant islands. Yet all share one common thread: a heartfelt resonance and deep affection for the homeland. The artists convey their love for the nation through a vivid symphony of colours and emotions in each piece.”

    Within the framework of the exhibition, a series of workshops inspired by the spirit of the *National Concert* will also take place, including:

* Printmaking workshop “Vietnamese Symbols,”

* Bodhi leaf painting and sketchbook-making “Songs of Joy,”

* Lacquer workshop “Calm in the Eggshell,”

* Toy figurine (tò he) modelling “Tales of a Thousand Years,”

  along with many other engaging artistic activities.

The exhibition is open to the public until September 3 at Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám.
