"VĂN MIẾU - QUỐC TỬ GIÁM AND THE TRADITION OF CONFUCIAN EXAMINATION IN BẮC NINH PROVINCE" EXHIBITION

    In celebration of Vietnam's Cultural Heritage Day on November 23, the Center for Scientific and Cultural Activities Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám coordinated with the Center for Heritage Conservation and Tourism Promotion in Bắc Ninh province to organize "Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám and the Tradition of the Confucian Examination in Bắc Ninh Province." exhibition. This event took place in the sacred space of Văn Miếu Bắc Ninh.

    Selected from a vast collection of scientific materials, documents, and photographs, two major themes will be emphasized in the exhibition:

    The stone stelae recording the names of successful doctoral laureates

    The exhibit aims to convey that Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám is the place where the finest elements of Vietnamese Confucian education converge. It highlights the significant contributions of great men such as King Lý Thánh Tông, King Lý Nhân Tông, King Lê Thánh Tông, and Chu Văn An, the first headmaster of Quốc Tử Giám.

    This section conveys a message that emphasizes Bắc Ninh as the cultural heart of the Kinh Bắc region, known for its rich educational tradition, reverence for learning, and the cultivation of exceptional scholars.

    At the opening ceremony, Dr. Nguyễn Văn Tú, Deputy Director of the Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám Cultural and Scientific Activity Center, shared: "Through this exhibition, we aim to offer the people of Bắc Ninh, especially the younger generation, a panoramic view of an iconic cultural heritage site of Hanoi, thereby nurturing a love for cultural heritage, the tradition of respect for learning, and the spirit of self-reliance, resilience, creativity, and the desire to contribute to building a prosperous, strong, and happy nation."

    The exhibition also introduces an innovative experience by combining traditional displays with modern technological solutions, such as virtual reality (VR) and artificial intelligence (AI).

    "Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám and the Tradition of the Confucian Examination in Bắc Ninh Province" exhibition will open from November 13 to December 31, 2024, at Văn Miếu Bắc Ninh (address: Area 10, Đại Phúc Ward, Bắc Ninh City).
