OPENING OF THE CALLIGRAPHY EXHIBITION "THE FRAGRANCE OF THANG LONG" AT THE TEMPLE OF CONFUCIUS - QUOC TU GIAM
Celebrating Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day November 23, on the afternoon of November 3, at the Thai Hoc House, the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam relic, the opening ceremony of the Thang Long - Hanoi Calligraphy Exhibition took place with the theme: "Hương sắc Thăng Long."
The Exhibition aims to honor the beauty of the land and the people of Thang Long-Hanoi, as well as the unique cultural values of the land and its thousands of years of civilization under the expression of calligraphy art.
Attending the Exhibition were Dr. Le Xuan Kieu - Director of the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities - Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam; Dr. Le Trung Kien, Nhân Mỹ Học Đường Director; Xuan Nhu Calligraphy - Vu Thanh Tung, Exhibition Curator; and a large number of people who love calligraphy.
The Exhibition displays 36 calligraphy works by 18 North, Central, and South authors, including two young female authors.
The works are mainly written in the traditional style with the scripts Trien, Le, Chan, Hanh, and Thao. Besides, several works with new and groundbreaking expressions express handwriting and layout.
Speaking at the opening of the Exhibition, Dr. Le Xuan Kieu - Director of the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam, said: We hope that the art of calligraphy in life will become increasingly rich and diverse into an opportunity and a place to connect calligraphy authors. Through the Exhibition, Long Flavors will gradually improve the level of calligraphy and the appreciation of calligraphy values, motivating calligraphy art lovers in the future.
Sharing more about the calligraphy works, Curator Xuan Nhu-Vu Thanh Tung said: "The 36 works of 18 authors with nearly 100 writings selected out of nearly 200 have partly shown the maturity of the calligraphy works." of each author as they have gradually shaped their writing style, very special to Hanoi. The works displayed at today's Exhibition exhibit the theme Thang Long Flavors, which go profoundly and classic, affirming the criteria of classic calligraphy art will always be the backbone. The lifeblood is the basic foundation of traditional calligraphy for those who love calligraphy and want to pursue this art path.
The Exhibition exhibited a part of the space to install art with 365 ancient notebooks written with content excerpted from "Essays to Promote Education" by King Le Thanh Tong, a great author of medieval literature Great Vietnam.
The Exhibition is open until December 3, 2024, at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam relic.
