AWARD CEREMONY AND OPENING OF THE 2024 VIETNAM ART PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION AT VĂN MIẾU – QUỐC TỬ GIÁM
On the afternoon of October 5, at the particular national monument Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám, the award ceremony for the competition and the opening of the 2024 Vietnam Art Photography Exhibition took place. The ceremony was a grand affair, with esteemed guests from the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the People's Committee of Hanoi, and the People's Committee of Thừa Thiên Huế Province in attendance.
The Vietnam Art Photography Competition and Exhibition, a cornerstone event for the photography community nationwide, is held every two years under the esteemed direction of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the People's Committee of Hanoi, and the People's Committee of Thừa Thiên Huế Province. The event is organized by the Department of Fine Arts, Photography, and Exhibition, in collaboration with the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, the Thừa Thiên Huế Department of Culture and Sports, and other relevant agencies.
This is an opportunity to bring together creative forces across the country, summarize and evaluate the artistic achievements of Vietnam's photography scene, and introduce outstanding photographic works by Vietnamese photographers to domestic and international audiences.
This year, the organizing committee was thrilled to receive a total of 9,500 entries from 1,373 authors from 63 provinces and cities across the country, showcasing the rich diversity of Vietnam's photography scene.
As a result, the Art Council meticulously selected 250 works from 194 authors to be exhibited. Among them, 33 outstanding works were honored with awards, including 3 gold medals, 6 silver medals, 8 bronze medals, and 15 consolation prizes. One work was particularly recognized with the Outstanding Work Award for Huế, a testament to the talent and dedication of our photographers.
The 2024 Vietnam Art Photography Exhibition will be held at Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám from October 4 to 14, 2024, and from October 25 to November 3 in the city of Huế, Thừa Thiên Huế Province.
