A VISUAL FEAST WITH THE ÁO DÀI COLLECTIONS "GIFTS OF HUMANITY"
As part of the ongoing program "Gifts of Humanity" at the Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám, on the evening of January 4, 2025, a traditional áo dài fashion show took place at the Thái Học Courtyard. The show featured collections by renowned designers Minh Hạnh, Silky Vietnam, and Viết Bảo.
The event was graced by the presence of several distinguished guests, including:
- Mrs. Lê Thị Bích Trân, wife of Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính;
- Mrs. Y Ngọc, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Kon Tum Province;
- Mrs. H'Kim Hoa Byă, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Head of the Mass Mobilization Committee of Đắk Lắk Province;
- Mr. Đỗ Đình Hồng, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports.
Additionally, the program welcomed master artisans from traditional craft villages, such as:
- Artisan Đỗ Văn Tấn and Đỗ Thị Sáng from the Kim Sơn sedge weaving village, Ninh Bình;
- Artisan Nguyễn Thị Thanh An from the Đại Hòa silk weaving village, Thái Bình;
- Artisans Hồ Thị Hợp and Ra Phát Thị Nhàn from the Zèng weaving community, A Lưới;
- Artisans H Sen Hmok Du and H Neo Bdap from the Bya Hoa silk brocade weaving village, Đắk Lắk;
- Artisan Y Mứi from the Chư Mom Ray brocade weaving village, Sa Thầy, Kon Tum;
- Village elder and elite artisan A Vẽ and artisan A Muôn from the Đắk Răng village, Kon Tum;
- Elite artisan A Lễ from the Kon Chênh bamboo weaving village, Măng Đen, Kon Tum.
The program celebrated the cultural and artistic values as well as the traditional craftsmanship of talented artisans from craft villages across Vietnam, all gathered at Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám. Each creation tells a story and carries a unique resonance, coming together to create a richly diverse Vietnam.
The fashion show was divided into three parts:
- "Silk Áo Dài" – featuring collections such as traditional patterned silk áo dài, embroidered silk áo dài, "Hanoi's 12 Seasons of Flowers" silk áo dài, water-printed silk áo dài, and lotus-themed silk áo dài.
- "Brocade Áo Dài" – showcasing collections like A Lưới brocade áo dài, Central Highlands coffee-inspired brocade áo dài, Đắk Lắk brocade áo dài, and Central Highlands brocade áo dài.
- "Brocade Fashion" – highlighting contemporary designs with brocade materials.
The program evoked many emotions and a profound love for Vietnam's rich and enduring cultural heritage.
