PRESIDENT LUONG CUONG AND KING OF CAMBODIA VISIT VAN MIEU - QUOC TU GIAM
During a state visit to Vietnam, on the morning of November 29, 2024, President Luong Cuong and King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia toured the special national relic, Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam.
In the ancient space of the nearly 1,000-year-old historical and cultural relic, amid the Doctor's Steles Garden Section, which preserves World Documentary Heritage and Vietnam's National Treasures, the two leaders visited Van Mieu and learned about the history of Quoc Tu Giam, "the first university in Vietnam", the 82 Doctoral steles, and the history of Vietnam's imperial examination education system. While stopping at the oldest stele erected in Van Mieu for the 1442 examination, President Luong Cuong referred to the famous saying: "“Virtuous and talented men are the primordial vitality of a State," inscribed on this stele.
During the visit, President Luong Cuong and King Norodom Sihamoni also enjoyed precious Vietnamese teas and admired the Khuê Văn Các, a symbol of Hanoi's millennia of culture.
At the end of their visit, the President and the King expressed their gratitude and good wishes to the staff working at Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam.
