On the afternoon of August 27, the Hanoi Department of Tourism, Hanoi Women's Union and Hanoi Youth Union organized a press conference "Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2024" at the Special National Relic Temple of Literature.
"Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2024" is one of a series of meaningful activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Capital's Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024). This is an annual activity of the Hanoi Department of Tourism to develop and promote Hanoi tourism, which is associated with promoting Vietnamese tourism while honoring and preserving the unique cultural beauty of the Vietnamese traditional long dress - Ao dai.
Attending the press conference were Ms. Dang Huong Giang - Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism; Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh - Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism; Ms. Hoang Thu Hong - Head of the Propaganda Department of Hanoi Women's Union; Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Huong - Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications; Mr. Nguyen Tien Hung - Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union, Chairman of the Vietnamese Student Association, Hanoi city; Associate Professor, Doctor, People's Artist Ung Duy Thinh - Representative of the Festival Program Advisory Board; Mr. Nguyen Van Tu - Deputy Director of the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam and 41 central and city press and media agencies.
Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh - Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism emphasized that: "Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2024 promises to be an attractive, unique and deeply spreading activity and attracting the attention of the people of the Capital; along with the ao dai, it brings the image of Vietnam to a large number of tourists and international friends, contributing to promoting the capital's tourism image as a "safe - friendly - quality - attractive destination".
The event takes place from October 4 - 6, 2024 at the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center. The opening ceremony will be held on the evening of October 4 at the Doan Mon Square stage - Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center with the highlight being the art program "Essence of Ao Dai" will reappear as part of the image of Hanoi capital with 70 years of history in which ao dai is the central image.
The festival highlight will be a Comprehensive art program of folk dance performances and Ao Dai Carnaval, deployed to 579 communes, wards and towns in the capital. It will be held on the morning of October 5. On the evening of October 5, the art program "Ao dai Festival" with the participation of 70 famous designers from the North - Central - South regions will be held at Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center. In particular, the program includes a performance of ao dai costumes of the wives of ambassadors of some countries in Vietnam.
In addition, cultural and artistic spaces, culinary spaces, and many other enjoyable experiential activities occur throughout the three days of the festival.
