THE OUTSTANDING CULTURAL EVENTS OF MAY AT VĂN MIẾU – QUỐC TỬ GIÁM
In May, the site welcomed numerous students who were graduating to take commemorative photos. These students, alongside their teachers, captured beautiful memories of their school years at a place known as Vietnam's first university.
Also in May, the night tour experience program “The Quintessence of Education” told the story of the Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám heritage and the nation’s academic tradition through the use of 3D Mapping technology, along with traditional folk games. This program made a strong impression and attracted many visitors and young people interested in learning about their ancestral heritage.
From May 17 to 19, 2024, the special national site Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám hosted numerous activities as part of the “Capital Women Applying Technology and Innovation” event. On the morning of May 18, the Hanoi Women’s Union organized a seminar on “Promoting the Role of Capital Women in Technology Application and Innovation.” The seminar highlighted the role, potential, and creativity of the capital’s women in applying technology and innovation across various fields such as scientific research, production, and business, thereby creating practical values for the community and positively contributing to the economic and social development of the capital.
Before the summer break, many teachers and parents organized trips for students to visit and participate in the Heritage Education Program at Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám. For instance, 12th-grade students from Vinschool Smart City’s primary, secondary, and high schools participated in the “Learning about Chinese Characters” theme, while 8C grade students from Trần Mai Ninh Secondary School took part in the “Learning about Old Classes” theme. The Heritage Education Program at Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám is an interesting and useful activity that helps students learn about the value of heritage.
On the afternoon of May 22, on the occasion of the 7th session of the 15th National Assembly, the Hanoi City National Assembly Delegation, in coordination with the Delegates Affairs Committee under the National Assembly Standing Committee, conducted a survey on activities to promote the value of cultural heritage and develop the cultural industry in service of drafting the revised Capital Law and the Capital Planning period 2021 – 2030, with a vision to 2045 at the special national site Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám. The delegation visited and surveyed the “Night Experience at Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám” tour to explore the story of the quintessence of Confucianism, the crystallization of the long-standing tradition of academic excellence and respect for teachers in Vietnamese culture.
