Hanoi Department of Culture & Sports cooperated with Dong Da District People's Committee to hold "The meeting on the implementation of security for the Spring Calligraphy Festival 2020" at Thai Hoc courtyard, The Special National Landmark Van Mieu –Quoc Tu Giam on the afternoon of 10th January, 2020.
Overview of the meeting
In recent years, the Spring Calligraphy Festival at Van lake of the Special National Landmark Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam, has become an annual cultural event every Lunar New Year, contributing to preserving and promoting the values of the art of calligraphy in Vietnam, honoring the tradition of respectful and pious teaching, filial piety and many traditional cultural activities of the nation. This year, the Spring Calligraphy Festival will take place from January 18th to February 5th, 2020.

The representatives of the People's Committee and the Police of the Ward also gave opinions for the security during the Lunar New Year Festival. In particular, the consensus is that there should be a close cooperation between the Center of Scientific and Cultural Activities Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam with functional agencies in ensuring security inside and outside the monument; Fire prevention; management of sidewalks around Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam relics. Many people said that it was necessary to strictly handle cases of illegal parking, with high prices compared to the regulations.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giap - Vice Chairman of Dong Da District People's Committee said the Center of Scientific and Cultural Activities Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam , units of the district, People's Committee and the police of related wards intensified patrols, inspections and strictly handled acts of stopping and parking vehicles in violation of regulations; violating traffic order and safety; encroaching sidewalks for business and trade, causing urban disorder; clearance of places for illegally holding means of transport, collecting prices beyond the prescribed prices. And the units are requested to arrange additional parking areas to serve the people; ensure environmental sanitation, security and order; fire safety.
