On the morning of February 27, 2025, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính and New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon visited the Special National Landmark Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám.

Prime Minister Christopher Luxon expressed deep admiration for the site's ancient atmosphere and historical significance. Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính introduced architectural structures such as the Văn Miếu Gate and Khuê Văn Các – the symbol of Hanoi. When learning about the 82 Doctoral Steles – recognized as Vietnam's National Treasures – the New Zealand Prime Minister was particularly impressed by Vietnam's long-standing tradition of valuing talented individuals and its enduring educational heritage.

Stopping in front of the revered teacher Chu Văn An statue, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính emphasized the profound significance of his life and career, as he symbolizes Vietnam's deep respect for educators. Prime Minister Christopher Luxon expressed his admiration for this tradition and Vietnam's strong academic spirit, adding that he had learned that Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính himself was once a teacher.

As part of the visit, the two Prime Ministers enjoyed Vietnamese tea and traditional pastries while listening to Quan họ Bắc Ninh folk songs, which UNESCO has recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

At the conclusion of the visit, the Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities presented the distinguished guests with two calligraphy artworks bearing auspicious meanings: "Success" and "Prosperity." These gifts symbolized best wishes for the two leaders' continued success in their roles and for the flourishing and development of both nations.
