PRESIDENT OF THE AUSTRALIAN SENATE VISITS THE VĂN MIẾU – QUỐC TỬ GIÁM RELIC SITE

On the afternoon of August 24, 2024, a high-ranking delegation from the Australian Parliament, led by the President of the Australian Senate, Sue Lines, visited the Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám relic site.

The ancient and tranquil space of the site, with its breathtaking beauty, left a strong impression on the President. She expressed her feelings: "This place is so beautiful! So peaceful!"

The Senate President's visit was not just a sightseeing tour, but a deep dive into the history and significance of the site. She showed a keen interest in the various architectural works, such as the Khuê Văn Các, the Đại Trung Gate, the Đại Thành Shrine, the Doctoral Steles Garden, and the Quốc Tử Giám exhibition space – the first national university. Her interest was not just academic, but also a sign of respect for the education system and the methods of selecting and valuing talent in the nation-building and development efforts of the Vietnamese dynasties.

When introduced to the story of teacher Chu Văn An and the tradition of respecting teachers, Senate President Sue Lines was deeply moved. She shared that she had once been a teacher. At the end of the visit, she expressed her gratitude to the staff of the relic site for providing the delegation with a profoundly emotional tour.

We invite you to view the images of the Senate President's visit to the site. These images capture the beauty and tranquility of the Văn Miếu-Quốc Tử Giám relic site, as well as the President's deep interest and emotional connection to the place.
