THE PRESIDENT OF RMIT UNIVERSITY VISITED SPECIAL NATIONAL LANDMARK VĂN MIẾU – QUỐC TỬ GIÁM
On the morning of April 6, 2022, Professor Alec Cameron - Vice Chairman and President of RMIT University paid a visit to the Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám.
Professor Alec Cameron was interested in learning about the 82 doctoral steles, the history of education, and the selection exams of the talented men during the Vietnamese monarchies. At the Hau Duong house in the Thai Hoc courtyard, the Professor solemnly offered flowers in front of the statue of teacher Chu Văn An. He was very impressed when he was introduced to the background, the career of Chu Văn An and the tradition of respect for the teacher of Vietnamese.
After the tour, the professor said that the visit of Văn Miếu-Quốc Tử Giám was very meaningful. He also wants RMIT students to actively learn about the historical and traditional values of their country.
Professor Cameron is a Rhodes Scholar (1986) with a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Oxford in Robotics (1989). He is also a graduate of the University of Sydney with a Bachelors degree in Science and Electrical Engineering.
