THE SEMINAR " CURRENT ACTIVITIES OF CALLIGRAPHY – THE SITUATION AND DEVELOPMENT ORIENTATION OF CALLIGRAPHY"

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi (1010-2020) during the Calligraphy Exhibition and Festival "Thăng Long-Hà Nội", in the morning of October 6, 2020, the Seminar "Current activities of calligraphy – the situation and development orientation of calligraphy" took place at The Special National Landmark Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám.

 The statements focused on reviewing the current status of calligraphy activities, both on the positive aspect and limitations in training; organizing exhibitions; the coordination between calligraphy clubs; the organization and examination of the Spring Calligraphy Festival; the mobilization of social resources for calligraphy activities; calligraphy activities in Hồ Chí Minh City, and the role of the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám.

 Through activities of calligraphy from the past time, the seminar suggested the orientations for the development of calligraphy in the coming time: towards professionalism; spiritual values, the beauty of calligraphy art and community service; sustainability of calligraphy activities; social resources and coordination of clubs, calligraphers, organizations and businesses; developing calligraphy towards application, diversifying composing activities to create many attractive products to meet the demand of the public.

This was the first seminar organized by Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám on calligraphy activities. The seminar achieved initial and very important results
