36 NĂM NHÌN LẠI MỘT CHẶNG ĐƯỜNG
Ngày 25/4/1988, UBND Thành phố Hà Nội đã ra Quyết định số 1776/QĐ/UB về việc thành lập Trung tâm Hoạt động Văn hóa Khoa học Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám là đơn vị sự nghiệp trực thuộc Sở Văn hóa - Thông tin Hà Nội (nay là sở Văn hóa và Thể thao Hà Nội). Trung tâm có chức năng quản lý khu di tích Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám theo pháp lệnh bảo vệ và sử dụng di tích lịch sử - văn hoá của Nhà nước; Tổ chức các hoạt động khoa học, văn hoá nghệ thuật phục vụ sự nghiệp xây dựng và phát triển Thủ đô; Tổ chức hướng dẫn khách tham quan du lịch; Lập quy hoạch bảo vệ và tôn tạo khu di tích.
Qua 36 năm hoạt động, Trung tâm đã thực hiện các chức năng, nhiệm vụ được giao, bảo tồn và phát huy giá trị văn hóa vật thể và phi vật thể của di tích Quốc gia đặc biệt Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám. Hàng năm, các hoạt động văn hóa, khoa học được tổ chức trên tinh thần không ngừng đổi mới, nâng cao hiệu quả của công tác bảo tồn, khai thác và phát huy giá trị của Di tích như: hoạt động khuyến học, giáo dục di sản, các cuộc hội thảo khoa học, triển lãm, trưng bày, hướng dẫn khách tham quan trong và ngoài nước, và mới đây là hoạt động trải nghiệm đêm di tích Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám.
Lễ Dâng hương truyền thống là một trong các hoạt động đặc biệt, có ý nghĩa được tổ chức tại Di tích Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám dành cho các em học sinh các cấp đến từ các trường trên địa bàn Hà Nội và các tỉnh, thành phố khắp cả nước nhằm bảo tồn và phát huy truyền thống uống nước nhớ nguồn, tôn sư trọng đạo và khuyến học. Ngày nay, Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám thường xuyên được đón tiếp rất nhiều trường học đến dâng hương, tổ chức phát thưởng, tuyên dương học sinh có thành tích trong học tập, tổ chức kết nạp đội, kết nạp đoàn… bởi dù không còn là nơi giáo dục, đào tạo nhân tài, nhưng Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám là biểu tượng của truyền thống hiếu học, trọng dụng nhân tài,
Trải nghiệm di sản là một hoạt động hướng tới cách tiếp cận mới về giáo dục di sản. Các chương trình trải nghiệm được xây dựng gắn với mục tiêu đào tạo, theo chuẩn kiến thức của cấp học, khối lớp và phù hợp yêu cầu của từng môn học. Học sinh được tham gia các hoạt động mang tính chủ động, tích cực, sáng tạo. Chương trình giáo dục di sản hướng tới việc tổ chức cho học sinh theo lớp, nhóm nhỏ nhằm nâng cao hiệu quả của buổi tham quan, học tập. Đến nay, Trung tâm đã xây dựng 30 chủ đề giáo dục di sản dành cho các nhóm khác nhau đến trải nghiệm tại Di tích.
Nhiều hội thảo, tọa đàm khoa học về danh nhân khoa bảng, dòng họ khoa bảng nhằm tìm hiểu rõ hơn về giá trị di tích, từ đó phục vụ việc bảo vệ và phát huy hiệu quả giá trị Di tích như: Hội thảo khoa học “Bảo tồn và phát huy giá trị di sản Di tích Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám trên nền tảng công nghệ 4.0”; Tọa đàm “Xây dựng các sản phẩm văn hóa phục vụ du lịch giai đoạn thích ứng an toàn, linh hoạt, kiểm soát hiệu quả dịch Covid-19 tại các bảo tàng, di tích ở Hà Nội”; Hội thảo khoa học “Thám hoa Vũ Thạch – con người và sự nghiệp”; Trung tâm còn phối hợp với các đơn vị tổ chức các hội thảo khác như với Bảo tàng tỉnh Bắc Giang tổ chức Hội thảo: Truyền thống khoa bảng tỉnh Bắc Giang với Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám…
Hoạt động trưng bày, triển lãm được tổ chức thường xuyên, sáng tạo đổi mới, thu hút được sự quan tâm của công chúng như: Triển lãm “Văn Miếu trong sự hồi sinh di sản của Hà Nội giai đoạn 1898; Trưng bày “Quốc Tử Giám - Trường Quốc học đầu tiên”; trưng bày "Khơi nguồn Đao học" tại khu Thái học Di tích Quốc gia đặc biệt Văn Miếu - Quốc Từ Giám…
Là một di tích tiêu biểu của thủ đô Hà Nội và cả nước, hàng năm đón gần hai triệu lượt khách trong và ngoài nước đến tham quan, trong đó có nhiều đoàn khách cấp cao của Đảng và Nhà nước: như Tổng Thư ký Liên hợp quốc António Guterres; Chủ tịch Thượng viện Pháp Gérard Larcher; Thủ tướng Luxembourg Xavier Bettel và thủ tướng Việt Nam Phạm Minh Chính; Hoàng thái tử Nhật Bản Akishino và công nương; Tổng thống Đức Frank-Walter Steinmeier và phu nhân Elke Budenbender…
Trung tâm hoạt động Văn hoá khoa học Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám ở tuổi 36 ngày càng đổi mới, đã và đang góp phần bảo tồn và phát huy giá trị di tích, di sản văn hoá tiêu biểu của cha ông, xây dựng thủ đô văn minh, hiện đại và đậm bản sắc dân tộc.

MEETING WITH FORMER LEADERS AND FORMER STAFF, SPRING 2020
Every year, the Centre of Scientific and Cultural Activities Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam organises a meeting for the former leaders and former. This annual meeting pays tribute towards the alumni who have contributed greatly to the development and preservation of Van Mieu. It is also an occasion for the current managerial board to present the Centre’s achievements, as well as,the challenges that the Centre has faced in order to preserve the site of Van Mieu- Quoc Tu Giam in the past year.
In 2019, there were many attractive activities for tourists at Van lake and the Heritage Discovery Center and souvenir opened. Development and preservation were operated efficientlythrough scientific and educational activities, seminars, exibitions and other activities.
Mr. Pham Tu - one of the former Directors- replied that he, as well as, others felt gratitude for the Centre’s gesture in remembering the reiterees; he is proud to see that prior generations, including himself, have contributed to today’s achievements. He recognized that Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam has changed for the better.
Coming to the end of the meeting, Mr. Le Xuan Kieu has wished the former leaders and former staff a Happy New Year, and wished the Centre more success in this new year.

Thực hiện hướng dẫn của UBND thành phố và LĐLĐ thành phố Hà Nội và triển khai hướng dẫn số 86/CV-CĐ ngày 22/11/2019 của Công đoàn Sở Văn hóa và Thể thao Hà Nội về việc tổ chức Hội nghị cán bộ, công chức, viên chức và người lao động năm 2020, sáng ngày 24/12/2019,Trung tâm hoạt động VHKH Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám đã tổ chức Hội nghị cán bộ công chức, viên chức, người lao động năm 2020.
Đến dự Hội nghị có đồng chí Phạm Thị Lan Anh – Ủy viên Ban Thường vụ, Phó Chủ nhiệm Ủy ban kiểm tra Đảng ủy, Trưởng phòng quản lý Di sản Sở VHTT Hà Nội, đồng chí Lê Thị Hồng Hạnh- Phó Trưởng phòng Tổ chức - Pháp chế Sở VHTT Hà Nội, đồng chí Lê Xuân Kiêu – Bí thư chi bộ, Giám đốc Trung tâm cùng ban lãnh đạo và toàn thể cán bộ viên chức, người lao động của Trung tâm Hoạt động VHKH Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám.

Hội nghị đã đánh giá kết quả hoạt động của Trung tâm trong năm 2019, những thành tích đã đạt được cũng như những hạn chế cần khắc phục, trên cơ sở đó đề ra phương hướng hoạt động năm 2020.
Bên cạnh đó, Hội nghị cũng nhận được nhiều ý kiến đóng góp của các cán bộ, viên chức và người lao động Trung tâm. Các ý kiến cho thấy Hội nghị đã phát huy tinh thần tích cực, chủ động của cán bộ, công chức, viên chức và người lao động đóng góp trong việc thực hiện các nhiệm vụ được giao.

Đồng chí Lê Xuân Kiêu – Bí thư chi bộ, Giám đốc Trung tâm đã trả lời các ý kiến đóng góp và giải đáp các thắc mắc về chế độ viên chức và người lao động trong đơn vị. Tại Hội nghị, đồng chí đã phát động phong trào thi đua của các cá nhân và tập thể tòan đơn vị trong năm 2020.

Thay mặt Đảng ủy Sở VHTT Hà Nội, Đồng chí Phạm Thị Lan Anh – Ủy viên Ban Thường vụ, Phó Chủ nhiệm Ủy ban kiểm tra Đảng ủy, Trưởng phòng quản lý Di sản Sở VHTT Hà Nội đã đánh giá cao những kết quả mà Trung tâm đã đạt được trong năm qua và hy vọng đơn vị sẽ ngày một phát triển mạnh hơn nữa trong năm tới.

The Special National Landmark Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam is one of the most unique and oldest cultural historical sites in Hanoi. The landmark, with ancient architectural construction, was used to train thousands of doctoral laureates for the nation. Nowadays, Van Mieu is used to conserve and highlight the nation’s traditions: fondness of learning, sense of duty and revering teachers and valuing education for generations to appreciate.
Through ups and downs of its 1000 – year – history till the period of the 1980s, the landmark was downgraded seriously: roofs were leaky, walls were slant, brick grounds were broken, the grass lawn was unkept and hid pathways. Mr. Nguyen Van Linh – General Secretary of Communist Party of Vietnam paid a vistit Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam and requested the People’community of Hanoi to repair and embellish the landmark and to organize activities which were appropriate to Van Mieu.
To be fully aware of the direction of the Communist Party and Government, on 25th, April, 1988, People’ Committee of Hanoi issued an official document establishing a Center for Scientific and Cultural Activity Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam. Ms. Tran Thi Tam Dan, –former Vice chairman of People’ Committee of Hanoi, signed the official document stating: “People’ Committee of Hanoi decided to establish a center for scientific, cultural and educational activities instead of organization at Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam. At that time, because the landmark was large, a lot was invested to develop and preserve it. We must considerhow best to create favorable conditions for scientific, cultural and educational acitivities.”
The Center was established to manage, protect, preserve, and bring into play the value of Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam (inside sector). Mr. Nguyen Vinh Cat, former Director of Department of Culture and Information in Hanoi and – former Director of the Center for Scientifc and Cultural Activity Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam shared : “ There’s nothing like cultural activities to emphasize the value of the landmark. However, we should not overlook scientific activities as well. Afterall, this was was the first university.
In the early years, the center was used as a department of preservation belonging to Department of Culture and Infomation in Hanoi, managed by the director of the department directly. The plan of activities focused on preservation, tourism and propaganda.
The function, mission and system of management were completed day by day. In 2000, Giam park became part of the landmark officially, and the Department of Preservation was established. In 2005, the system of management and departments were divided into three distinct departments: Department of Administration, Department of Tourism, and Department of Preservation. In 2006, Van Lake became part ofVan Mieu. The space of the landmark was enlarged significantly. In December 2011, in order to speed up scientific activities, the Department of Research and Collection was founded.
Today, four departments play a role in themanagement, preservation, research and promotion ofthe Special National Landmark Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam by offeringscientific and cultural activities about Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam, for the public.
The Center, which was established over 30 years ago, has grown from 8 staffs to over 90 staffs today. The previous generation of staffs helped the next generation to share experience, knowledge and support each other to fulfill the mission of the Center.
The results: Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam is one of the most well – known places of culture and tourism inthe nation. There have been over 2 million tourists, over 500 schools and countless special groups includingdiplomatic guests of the Communist Party and Government who have visited the landmark since 1998.
Mr. Dang Van Bai (former director of Department of Cultural Heritage, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Cultural Heritage and member of World Heritage Council shared that: “When we founded the Center for Scientific and Cultural Activities Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam, the landmark was changed and revived.”

2018 was a remarkable year since the Center’s founding 30 years ago. The contributions made by the staff were recognized and highlighted. A certificate of satisfactory progress was issued by the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism; Ministry of Foreign Affairs; People’s Committee in Hanoi; Committee of Cultural Heritage; Public Security in Hanoi; and Department of Culture and Sport.
