DEPUTY SECRETARY OF THE HANOI PARTY COMMITTEE NGUYỄN VĂN PHONG VISITED THE EXHIBITIONS AND PRODUCT DESIGN SHOWCASES OF THE 'DESIGN WEEK' EVENT AT VĂN MIẾU – QUỐC TỬ GIÁM
On the morning of September 29, 2023, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyễn Văn Phong, along with the delegation from the Party Committee and the Hanoi Department of Culture & Sports, visited the exhibitions and product design showcases of the 'Design Week' event at Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám.
As part of the visit, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Phong and the delegation visited the 'Dot' exhibition in the Thái Học area. This exhibition featured the top 20+10 entries currently in the final judging phase of the Vietnam Design Competition during the Design Week 2023. Following that, the delegation explored the 'Heaven - Water - Earth' exhibition, a multicultural and shared heritage exhibition between the United Kingdom and Vietnam.
Finally, the delegation surveyed the Design Fair Vietnam at the Giám garden of Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám.. The fair, designed by HMLarchitecture, featured booths in various fields, including interior design, applications and decoration, handicrafts, fashion, and media. The refreshing green space, along with environmentally friendly design messages, attracted the attention of the delegation.
Notably, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee showed great interest when visiting the product booths of graphic design and digital technology students from the University of Greenwich Vietnam. Their products represented a creative fusion of modern technology and tradition, capturing the essence of youth, with rich content including calligraphy, logos, visual communication, and more. Mr. Nguyễn Văn Phong expressed confidence and expectations regarding the contributions of the younger generation to the preservation and promotion of the cultural values of their ancestors.
It is known that the 'Vietnam Design Week' is the country's largest and first annual event aimed at discovering and honoring outstanding Vietnamese products and designers in various fields, including Communication Design, Interior Design, Decorative Accessories Design, Fashion Design, and Public Design. It has now been running for four years and has garnered the attention of designers, the media, and the public.
The visit to the cultural event, the Vietnam Design Week 2023 at t Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám by Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, demonstrates the city leadership's interest in the contributions of designers in the field of creative culture.
