The Văn Miếu-Quốc Tử Giám’s images in a program to promote Hanoi as a cultural destination in 2020
In the program to promote Hanoi as a cultural destination in 2020 (from June 26 to June 28, 2020), visitors who visit the pedestrian street have an opportunity to learn about the Văn Miếu-Quốc Tử Giám and participate in exciting discovery activities at the Information and Discovery department set up at Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi.
In order to promote the image of the Văn Miếu-Quốc Tử Giám so that people will become familiar with it, the Center for Scientific and Cultural Activities, Văn Miếu-Quốc Tử Giám introduced photos, information about the relic. For visitors who have never been to the relic, this is a good opportunity to help them better understand this historical site that is nearly thousand years old.
At the Information and Discovery department, visitors have the opportunity to participate in some interesting activities such as printing the ancient patterns that are engraved on the stone steles (using traditional printing method of Vietnam), each of the patterns has hidden meanings such as Success in exams, Happy family, happiness, prosperity, good fortune.. When participating in these activities, visitors found it very interesting to learn traditional printing techniques. What is even more special is that visitors can print a pattern on their own and take home. Many visitors were very impressed when wearing clothes(of students of the old time), and sitting at a desk having a photo taken .
In addition, for students, they can learn about the history of the relic through the game like Seek sacred animals at the Văn Miếu-Quốc Tử Giám(using an ipad) . The games are all designed to be suitable for each age group. Indeed, the students were very interested in the game Seek sacred animals at the Văn Miếu-Quốc Tử Giám (Carp, Turtle, Nghê, Phoenix ..), this game helps you understand the meaning and identify the animals easily. For preschoolers, babies have the opportunity to color the sacred animals. The coloring activity helps children remember and identify them easily.
Each image and activity will help the image of the Văn Miếu-Quốc Tử Giám become familiar with people.
